Recently our firm defended Wade Maughan who was charged with capital homicide. The matter was hotly litigated to the point where the State tried to remove our firm and co-counsel from the case but they were unsuccessful after the Utah Supreme Court stepped in. After five years of litigation, Mr. Maughan was acquitted after a three week jury trial—the jury deliberated less than four hours.
